Bambinis 1 provides care and stimulation for children aged 6 weeks to 18 months – nurturing the babies and helping them to discover the fascinating world around them. This room has a carpeted floor play area with baby gyms and a good selection of age-appropriate toys. There is a ‘messy play’ area to provide first experiences of creative and sensory play including sand, water and paint. This area also doubles as the dining area, fully equipped with baby seating.
At Rushcliffe Montessori, Bambinis 1 are taken into their own outdoor space on a daily basis and taken on regular walks. They have free-flow access to the enclosed colourful garden space. This area is well-equipped to provoke curiosity and to enable the babies to explore safely; meeting their sensory, emotional and physical needs.
There is a designated sleep room for children who prefer some quiet when sleeping. Cots, sleep mats and rockers are provided for nap times. Clean sheets are always used. We follow the recommended sleep position guidelines and monitor children to ensure they sleep safely.
Our Bambini’s rooms are split to support needs and development of all children. Up to 18 Months our Bambinis are encouraged to be confidently mobile before a transition to Bambinis 2.
The room caters for up to 12 babies with a minimum ratio of 1:3 – making transitioning from home to nursery as seamless as possible for your little one.

What is the staff to child ratio?
The minimum ratio within these age groups are the following
1:3 for babies 6 – 18 months
1:4 for 2 years olds
1:8 for 3 + years
Can my child take a nap?
Cots, sleep mats and rockers are available for nap times after lunch for those who require it. Clean sheets are always used.
Is my child supervised during nap times?
Babies are placed in the recommended sleep position (following guidelines) and are always monitored during sleep time to ensure maximum safety.
Are the staff fully qualified?
Qualifications: Support staff allocated in these rooms have a minimum level 3 qualification, and work alongside three qualified Montessori trained teachers.
Do I need to bring a packed lunch?
All drinks, meals and snacks are included in the daily fee, and are freshly prepared and cooked on site.
How often will my child eat?
We serve meals 4 times a day:
Breakfast – Served up to 8.45 am
Mid-morning snack – 10am
Lunch – Served at 12.00 pm
Tea – Served at 4.00pm
