Our trips, expeditions and tours enhance our children’s learning. More importantly, they are interesting and fun!
Our children are living in a vast, wide and wonderful world; we believe the more they learn about it, the better equipped they will be for life’s rich tapestry. Rushcliffe Montessori occasionally hold seasonal events and trips. These action-packed trips and visits are provided to enhance our varied timetable. Our nursery will circulate a newsletter with up-to-date information of up and coming events.
Creativity and imagination are two skills where children do so much better than adults. We try to make sure that our trips are varied by encompassing a range of different subjects, environments and locations to let their minds run free. King of the castle, princess giraffe, being a superhero firefighter or even an astronaut – our events are chosen to allow your children to discover what they want to be and do.
Below are some ideas about the different kinds of places that we could visit with your children, and some suggestions of what we might do when we get there;

- Zoo or wildlife park – learn about different animals
- Farm – feed the animals
- Library – find and read some books together
- Park – do a scavenger hunt
- Museum – do a trail or craft activity
- Theatre – watch a play or take part in a workshop
- Factory – see how things are made
- Fire/police station – find out about people’s jobs
- Shops – buy ingredients for something to make back at the nursery
The prospect of allowing your children on nursery outings can seem daunting – even if it’s just a trip to the local park. There’s certainly a lot to think about in terms of safety and practicalities, but outings are extremely beneficial to enhance your child’s education.
At Rushcliffe Montessori, your child’s safety is of paramount importance to us which is why we put the following measures in place: Obtaining parental consent, ratios of adults to children, number of first aiders required, high-vis clothing and undertaking a risk assessment. You can be certain that your child will be well cared for. We provide a safe, well-staffed environment and children are all transported appropriately in a fully insured vehicle.
