We are a brand new, accredited Montessori setting conveniently located between West Bridgford and Bingham, and accept children from across the county and beyond.

Our Vision
Our vision at Rushcliffe Montessori Nursery is to ensure that each child’s interests and developmental needs are met. Our endeavours will ensure that each Montessori child has a high level of cognitive attainment by age 5; above the national average. Our aim is for the children to demonstrate excellent levels of positive social and behavioural development and have a strong sense of self esteem.

Bambinis 1
Bambinis 1 provides care and stimulation for children aged 6 weeks to 18 months – nurturing the babies and helping them to discover the fascinating world around them.

Mini & Maxi Montessorians
Our Mini Montessorians and Maxi Montessorians share the same space in our nursery school. They have several areas which they have access to throughout the day.
Who is Maria Montessori?
Maria Montessori (1870-1952) opened the first Montessori school in 1907. She first qualified in medicine, becoming Italy’s first female Doctor. Her work as a paediatrician led her to the Montessori field of education.
What is the Montessori Method?
Montessori is a calm and nurturing, educational approach based on the work of Dr. Maria Montessori. This method of education aims to develop the child’s natural interests through hands on activities with emphasis on developing day-to-day life skills, focussing on independence whilst being supported in the learning environment.
What does the Montessori curriculum cover?
The curriculum helps children to develop their natural interest through sensory based and self-directed learning. As well as sensorial exploration, the programmes at our Montessori school include Language & Literacy, Mathematics, Cultural and Practical Life.
What makes the Montessori approach different?
The child-led approach requires the teacher to have knowledge of the ways in which children learn. The teacher facilitates learning by preparing a calm and orderly environment with materials specially selected to meet each child’s interest and developmental needs.
