The Wolds Day Nursery at Normanton
Due to high demand we are not taking any new bookings for The Wolds Day Nursery until September 2025.
We are a bespoke-designed nursery providing full day care to children aged between 6 weeks and 8 years. We are a small, private group dedicated to providing the highest standards of childcare and Early Years education. All three of our early year’s settings have been rated ‘Outstanding’ in all areas by Ofsted, a tribute to the dedication and hard work of our caring staff team. Read our Ofsted report.
Located between the beautiful villages of Normanton on the Wolds and Plumtree with open views our Nursery is a single-storey purpose-built facility providing a bright airy, homely and secure environment. There is parking on-site for parents.
The Nursery
Our Nursery is bright, cheerful and stimulating with displays of the children’s work and well-kept resources. Outside, we have a secure, easily accessible garden where children are given the opportunity to extend their learning further. We operate an equal opportunities policy and are an inclusive setting.

Outside
The Nursery has a very large, totally enclosed garden providing a sheltered play area, lawned area, a home role-play zone, vehicle/transport zone, construction zone, a gardening zone and an animal park (rabbits & guinea pigs). Children play outside every day, even on rainy ones!
Younger children are taken for ‘walks’ in pushchairs and older children make use of our field and short walks around the local villages.
Preschool children have the option of attending our weekly Forest School where our very own qualified Forest School leaders carry out exciting activities and lead adventures in the great outdoors. We have full use of the village hall 1 morning a week where we cater for dance and sports for the preschool children.

What is the staff to child ratio?
The minimum ratio within these age groups are the following
1:4 for 2 years olds
1:8 for 3 + years
Are there any spaces for my child at The Wolds Day Nursery?

Is my child supervised during nap times?
Sleep mats are available for nap times after lunch for those who require it. Children are always monitored during sleep time to ensure maximum safety.
Are the staff fully qualified?
Qualifications: Support staff allocated in these rooms have a minimum level 3 qualification, and work alongside three qualified, trained teachers and our Forest School leader.
Do I need to bring a packed lunch?
All drinks, meals and snacks are included in the daily fee, and are freshly prepared and cooked on site.
How often will my child eat?
We serve meals 4 times a day:
Breakfast – Served up to 8.45 am
Mid-morning snack – 10am
Lunch – Served at 12.00 pm
Tea – Served at 4.00pm
