Principal

A very warm welcome to Rushcliffe Montessori Nursery School.

We are a brand new, accredited Montessori setting conveniently located between West Bridgford and Bingham, and accept children from across the county and beyond.

We are blessed to sit within almost two acres of grounds, including a one acre natural woodland, where our children can run, explore and play in arguably the very best learning environment, the great outdoors.

Our qualified Montessori and Forest school teachers are skilled at acquiring the very best understanding of your child and in maximising opportunities for learning. Whether inside our bespoke classroom spaces or outdoors in our specifically designed garden areas, every day presents exciting and unique experiences inspired by the Maria Montessori’s ethos of ‘following the child’.

All staff are qualified in specialist early years and / or Montessori teaching. In addition, we have established programmes of learning, having acquired accreditation in various programmes from speech and language support to oral health.

Our unique blend of Montessori inspired learning, combined with elements of Forest Schools, Reggio Emilia and Steiner, afford children a broad range of pedagogies to maximise their learning opportunities.

Having been in education for over thirty years, I am passionate about the ‘first five years count’ movement. These are the optimum years for your child to learn, grow and develop, and there are no second chances to get it right.

We have over a 96% take up from prospective parents once they enter our doors for a visit. If you are seeking high quality nursery care and education for your baby, toddler or preschooler, we would be delighted for you to come and see our wonderful Montessori Nursery School for yourself.

Our Forest School

Rushcliffe Montessori Nottinghamshire
Who is Maria Montessori?

Maria Montessori (1870-1952) opened the first Montessori school in 1907.  She first qualified in medicine, becoming Italy’s first female Doctor.  Her work as a paediatrician led her to the Montessori field of education.

What is the Montessori Method?

Montessori is a calm and nurturing, educational approach based on the work of Dr. Maria Montessori. This method of education aims to develop the child’s natural interests through hands on activities with emphasis on developing day-to-day life skills, focussing on independence whilst being supported in the learning environment.

What does the Montessori curriculum cover?

The curriculum helps children to develop their natural interest through sensory based and self-directed learning. As well as sensorial exploration, the programmes at our Montessori school include Language & Literacy, Mathematics, Cultural and Practical Life.

What makes the Montessori approach different?

The child-led approach requires the teacher to have knowledge of the ways in which children learn.  The teacher facilitates learning by preparing a calm and orderly environment with materials specially selected to meet each child’s interest and developmental needs.

What our families say

Rushcliffe is a wonderful nursery, all the staff are attentive and kind!  The children do so much each day. My son adores the nursery and has made strong connections with other children and staff. Rushcliffe Montessori is a safe haven for my son and I wouldn’t send him anywhere else!          D F (Mother of Child)

Rushcliffe Montessori is an outstanding facility, which excels in all areas I would wish for my childs daycare. The staff are fantastic – the children are so well cared for.

Shruti T (Mother of Child)

When sending my children to nursery four days per week, it was vital they were stimulated, had plenty of outdoor time, and had a lot of fun – Rushcliffe Montessori nursery has over delivered on everything I hoped for.
